Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday.
and i had a very long discussion today.
He told me some very good ideas.
So I'm going to make this contest different.
Ok the contest now will consist of doing a slice of life manga genre.
For those of you not familiar with what a slice of life story is. I will post the definition below.
Slice of life is a phrase describing the use of mundane realism depicting everyday experiences in art and entertainment.
Slice of life means that each episode/chapter is a small segment/story of a persons life. Typically it will show what happens to the character each day. Think about it as if the author took a character and just cut pieces of their life out to show you.
slice of life is suppose to mean a mundane story that centers around things that commonly happen through out life. However most people use it for stories that take place in the real world (not fantasy or sci fi). It can be a fictional story that mirrors real life or a true story.
So this is our new task.
Oh yeah and to add fuel to the fire. I will enter the contest. Dun..Dun... Dun!
Yeah you all would have to defeat me. I figured that would make things more interesting.
Up the stakes if you will.
Before any of you get too worried. Yes i have written a lot of manga stories and genre's.
However, i have not written a Slice of life story before.
So consider yourselves lucky and in the ball game still.lol
But seriously i haven't ever written a Slice of life story so this will be my first.
I love to challenge myself. And hey who knows someone out there might just beat me.
But you better bring your A+ game.
Because i know what i have to offer. Muahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Prizes are still being worked out, But i'm thinking the prizes will go as follows:
1st place a year subscription to Deviantart.
2nd place Draws your Slice of life OC if your story wins.
3rd place you would get like 150 Da points
****Note**** If i win then i will ofcourse not get anything so i have a lot more to lose than you guys.lol
I thought about offering $100 as a 1st prize. But since this contest changed from doing a mainstream manga to writing a slice of life manga.
Our next contest 1st place winners will receive $100. Yes you heard it right. Next contest where the challenge will involve creating a mainstream short manga or oneshot. You will get $100.
Well hope this has hyped a lot of you up and we look forward to a lot of members to join this contest and certainly the next one.
Thanks and we look forward to your comments below.
Oh yeah and please go thank for helping me come up with this idea. Because i was racking my brain to figure out what to do next. But now seems like everything is a lot better.
If we don't at least get 10 participants for this contest and the next then we will have to cancel the contest. We can't run contest with only 2 or 3 contestants.
Also to enter this contest you must be a member of manga united.
Thanks!

Question for our group members.
Hi we'd like to update this group. Our question to you is what would you like to see from us? Originally this group was created for short manga contest for both writers and artist partners to join. Also artist could participate in the challenges by themself.
It was to be a big happy learning experience. Also one of our goals was to prove that a mainstream manga could be produced through this process. But we would like your take on things. So the floor is open please feel free to leave comments.
Also we are seeking staff to help with this group. It's basically just down to one person now the founder ~KENSHINRO7 (https://www.deviantart.com/kenshinro7). So any help is great jus
Heading into the new year we want your ideas.

Are any of you up for a challenge!
Hi everyone. We are wondering if you are up for a short manga challenge? We propose that you draw a short 10 page manga promo for a brand new Military based manga. Any type of military it doesn't just have to involve guns it can be medieval times based or other. We have not had any challenges or contest in quite sometime and we want to get back to our roots with this page. More details to come soon. Please let us know your thoughts about this challenge. Thanks and we look forward to hearing from all that would like to participate.
Group update!
Hello everyone. Well as founder of this group i'd like to discuss somethings. The original intention of this group was wonderful. The core reason for starting this group was to see artist and writers ban together and do short manga projects and see who's work was closest to the real thing mainstream wise.
Also members would work together and learn from each other. We originally were hosting contest.
I would like to get back to that.
I know, I get it everyone has a life and is busy with school etc... But let's take time out to be creative and push our limits. I want to see who has the next big manga comic. I'd love to witness that. And even

Tch, slice of life is not my forte. I use other things just to get out of reality for the most part.
